On Tuesday our group went on an outing to the Four Courts. We had a tour, sat in the Supreme Court and 2 regular court rooms. We also had a chat with a High Court judge--but he was really cool. He was way open about this stories and let everyone try on his wig! After that we all went to Koh for dinner. It was a Thai place which I found highly amazing--some people not so much. I just really missed Asian food in general--and there was rice. The appetizers were really good and there was a wide variety presented to us. Yay for wine too. And then the dinner was good...most people ordered curry but i got noodles which was a huge portion and delicious. and then there was a dessert platter...i dont know what is wrong with me and i didn't take pictures of the food...but it was very tasty--and included in tuition! After that we followed one of the professors to the Stag's Head. it was a tiny little bar so we all spent the entire time outside. my feet were killing me. but it was really cool hanging out with a professor in a relaxed setting and basically watching people getting drunk under the table by him because he was that hard core. barristers here are really young because it doesnt take that long compared to the US. one of the highlights of that part was seeing one of the guys arguing big time with the professor about homelessness and begging. total drunk talk, but trying to be intelligent because we are law students! hilarious.
today was my second to last day of work. went to a tough consultation, but actually got to do something by asking some of the questions. this internship has not been particularly helpful, but i have already thought of ways i can spin it in order to sound good in interviews.
attempted to get my computer fixed, and so far semi good. it is better than before but still doing some crazy things.
talked to my mom, kat, and claire today. it was nice that i finally had the time to call and say hi, but then it was not good because that just meant i didn't experience dublin today! but you all are worth it! 2 more days basically!
geneva here i come soon.
